|South Intermediate Footballer of the year|
Congratulations to Barry Cooney who was nominated for the Nationalist South Intermediate Footballer of the year.
|Emly Vs Ballylooby/Castlegrace|
The first game of the Junior Hurling league took place on Saturday evening in poor conditions in Emly. The team took to the field missing a few regulars.
The game was evenly contested and Emly went in at the half time break two points up. We trailed for most of the game but a late resurgence saw us draw the game level with five minutes left on the clock. Paddy Kennealy stepped up and converted a wonderful point from 50 yards to take us in to the lead with two minutes on the clock. The defense managed to hold out a last gasp Emly attack and this saw us claim victory in our first outing of the year.
